Library hours for the remainder of 2017

The library will be open 9:00am to 5:00pm Monday to Friday during the mid-semester break (Monday 25th September to Friday 6th October) except for Friday 29th September, when the library will be closed for the Grand Final Eve holiday.

Extended hours will resume on Monday 9th October and will continue until the end of the exam period (Friday 17th November). The library will be open as normal on Melbourne Cup Day (Tuesday 7th November).

Summer hours (9:00am to 5:00pm Monday to Friday) will commence on Monday 20th November until the start of 1st semester 2018, with the exception of the Christmas-New Year period (exact dates to be announced closer to the time), when the library will be closed.

New University of Divinity cards

University of Divinity students may use their new student cards to borrow at any University of Divinity library, including the Dalton McCaughey Library. Please contact library staff at the loans desk, on 93408888 or to arrange this.

Please be aware that you will still need your library User ID (the last 5 digits from your Dalton McCaughey Library borrower card) and your PIN (generally but not necessarily your postcode) to access the "My Account" part of the Dalton McCaughey Library catalogue, as well as any on-line resources that the library has subscribed to.

Wireless Problems Feedback Form

A number of library users have reported problems gaining access to the wireless network (CTM-Public) or mainitaining a connection once they've logged in. Our network administrators are trying to find out what is causing these problems, but they need to have more precise information.

If you have trouble connecting to the wireless network, please fill in one of the feedback forms with as much information as you can provide. Especially important are your wireless network user name, the date and time, what device you were trying to use (for example, an iPhone using IOS, a laptop computer using Windows 7, etc.), what exactly you were trying to do (for example, log in to the network, connect to web sites, etc.) and what the result of these actions was (for example, you could not reach the network login page, or the network would ask to be authenticated every few minutes, etc.).

We hope that, given enough information, the network administrators can trace the cause of these issues.

Forms are available at CTM reception, at the library front desk, and at various places throughout the library.

Wireless network access; updated

A number of people have experienced trouble using the CTM-Public wireless network at the library: We have been told that the network settings have been changed so that users will not have their passwords expire after 24 hours but rather after 42 days (6 weeks). If you have trouble accessing the wireless network please let us know as soon as possible and we will contact the network administrators for you.

For instructions on how to connect to the CTM-Public wireless network, see this file.

Membership renewals

If you are a returning borrower and find that you cannot log in to either the catalogue or to the library's on-line resources, it is possible that your library membership has not yet been renewed.

We have no automatic processes to make sure returning borrowers are re-enrolled, so we rely on our borrowers to let us know a) that they continue to require library services, and b) whether any of their details have changed (for example, their postal address).

Please contact our Lending Services Coordinator if you have any problems logging into library services:

Wireless network access at the library

We have been advised that the new wireless internet connection is now available in the library.

The network most users will need to connect to is the 'CTM-Public' network. This network requires registration, so please plan to wait a few minutes before you get connected.

As part of the registration process you will be asked to provide an email address; it may be a good idea to nominate an address you can access from the library (such as a Hotmail or Gmail webmail address) so that you can retrieve your password using one of the library terminals.

We have been told that documentation will be available soon; please ask at the desk next time you're at the library.
